Baia Formosa
Discovered by the Portuguese in 1612.
Situated in the extreme south of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, 94 Km. from Natal.
Each view is more beautiful that the other: deserted beaches, rivers that meet the ocean, tall dunes,
lakes with fresh water, the main one being the Lagoa Araraquara, populary known as the Coca-cola lake,
for having a dark coloration, almost red, fruit of the pigmentation of the plant root and components of the soil.
The baia Formosa Bay is an ecological sanctuary,
it´s beaches are marine turtle nests, manatees frequently visit this
region, the dolphins give a show almost every morning, and even inside the city you can find the samall monkey sagui,
many birds and even anteaters.
